Surefire Tips to Bring Back Your Youth!
- Posted on: Nov 15 2015
Sometimes we have mixed feelings about aging. We might welcome the wisdom and wealth of experiences, but be less happy about certain outer signs of advancing years, such as wrinkles and other skin changes. The good news is that we can take control of some of the signs of aging and welcome each birthday with more enthusiasm for all the good that aging brings.
Try these tips to keep your glow year after year:
- Make room on your plate for foods with the fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6. These minerals are thought to help preserve the youthfulness of the skin. They are much more potent when coming from natural sources (versus supplements), such as olive oil, ground flax seed, salmon, and other types of fish. Meanwhile, there are also fish-oil supplements that you can try for a boost in these valuable fats. They also keep the skin moisturized, which can be a great benefit for aging skin.
- Ditch the liquor and stick to water. Water has always done wonders for our skin. It is not only an essential in our die—it also makes our skin happy! The skin only needs a liter of water a day to keep its natural moisture and youthful look. However, the amount may vary for other people who have different physical needs and body types (like athletes, for example, whose bodies use more fluids). If don’t you want to give up alcohol entirely, consume it only in moderate amounts. While red wine contains good antioxidants, it may dilate our blood vessels, leading to the reddening of the skin known as rosacea.
- Give your skin its daily dose of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is credited with keeping the skin younger looking. While you can generate Vitamin D by basking under the sun, you can also get it from food sources such as fatty fish or from supplements. Get your daily fix to maintain that refreshing glow!
There’s a lot you can do to supplement these simple tips (skincare products and cosmetic procedures and treatments, for example). But it’s always reassuring to know that you can help maintain your beauty through your efforts and natural means.
