Stubborn Fat Deserves No Respect

We all have to deal with stubborn things in life. The two-year-old lying down in the aisle of the supermarket, your boss, your dog who enjoys sleeping on the couch while you’re at work, your mother-in-law, and myriad others.

Most people, no matter what kind of shape they’re in, have stubborn pockets of fat that definitely belong on that list. No matter what you do — changes in diets and exercise routines — they remain. Dr. Perron has the answer for such intractable fat, suctioning it away permanently with tumescent liposuction.

Liposuction has changed

Liposuction first came to Canada in the 80s, but the original procedure was quite violent. Patients needed to be under general anesthesia. To break loose the fat, the doctor had to move the cannula (which was much larger in those days, as well) back and forth violently. This caused serious tissue trauma and bruising that lasted for weeks, if not months.

Fortunately, liposuction has come a long way since those early days. Today, it is far less invasive, with short recovery periods and most procedures performed usually under only local anesthesia.

Tumescent method

This helps loosen the fat, constricts the blood vessels, and provides comfort. After the patient is comfortable, he makes three to five tiny incisions and inserts a thin cannula to suction out the fat and excess fluids. The saline solution helps break up the fat, making it easier to remove. The epinephrine keeps bleeding and tissue trauma to a minimum. The incisions are so small they can be closed with just a single stitch, so there isn’t any scarring.

Recovery

Recovering from liposuction with Dr. Perron is much easier than those earlier days. There will be some mild swelling and bruising, but it should start to really reduce in a couple weeks. You’ll need to wear compression garments over the treatment area to help the skin adapt to its new contour. Most people can return to work in just a few days. Any fat removed is gone for good, and if you maintain a smart diet you’ll love your results for decades to come.

So, quit taking any sass from those stubborn fat pockets and let Dr. Perron get rid of them permanently. Call us 403-228-7076 to set up your liposuction consultation.
